Priya Singh is a portfolio design specialist and personal branding coach with a deep conviction that design is communication, not decoration. Every colour choice, every layout decision, every piece of copy in a portfolio sends a signal about who you are — and most students never think about whether those signals are the right ones.

With a background in graphic design and UX, Priya moved into the career coaching space when she noticed a consistent pattern: students were building portfolios that looked generic, borrowed, and interchangeable. They were following templates without understanding why certain design choices work — or failing to inject any sense of their actual personality into the work.

She has spent six years helping students understand that a portfolio is a brand, and that brand needs to be distinctly theirs. Her process starts with identity — who are you, what do you value, what kind of work do you want to attract — and then works backwards to every visual and structural decision on the page.

At SkillStory, Priya writes about the intersection of design, personality, and professional presentation. Her content helps students think intentionally about how they want to be perceived, and then make design choices that bring that perception to life without compromising professionalism.

She is based in Bengaluru, works with students across creative and technical fields, and consults with career centres on portfolio aesthetics and visual self-presentation. She believes every student has a story worth telling — and that telling it well is a learnable skill.
